Yes! I am confident we can weather it well and perform better than the rest of the world
We may be affected but I believe we can manage it well

We will be affected by it just like the rest of the world.

We should have a national “Bring your child to work day” to not allow the child to learn about the roles and responsibilities of an adult, but to spend some family time together.

Will work (and would be fun) as long as the bosses can be assured that it will not affect productivity! I would rather we have more childcare centres near my workplace so I don't have to leave the child at home all the time.

We could have this implemented by having nannies or bringing in an organisation to conduct some fun activities for the kids while we are working some of the time so that there's meaningful engagement.

If i remember correctly, the Japanese have this event, and it works marvellously. There was even a TV programme on it, and the parents were interviewed with the children and what they learn about work and so on. Children will appreciate what their parents are doing to bring food to the table every day.

Bring your child to work, so that your child could distract everyone at work.

Even better, if your child is chubby, his/her cheek will be pinch like little rubber stress ball, to de-stress your staff or collegues.

This matter have to be handled seriously. Imagine workers just bringing their children to work, there'll be chaos! The kids will run about, playing with stuff that fascinate them.
"Hey, what does this button do?" *presses*

Programmes have to be set up to keep the kids entertained as they aren't those people who can sit around. They will most probably be up and about after sitting for less than a minute.

And also, not all the workers will be willing to bring their child to work. They may be afraid that interaction between the kids could get bad if there is no one to supervise them.

Hence, many things have to be considered before carrying out this. Maybe we can have a trial period and see how things work out first, after that we will see what problems we'll be facing and correct them. After that, we will then make this Bring Your Child To Work Day official. :D

This can be carried when the parent is on leave and this will not cause much disruption. The parent could bring their child to their work place and introduce the child to the uncles and aunties, working desk / area and introduce to the type of works, projects and stress papa or mummy needs to take on everyday. Its more like a fun thing between the parent and the child have an weekday outing together and not the scene where the child sitting behind daddy or mummy seeing them doing some serious work.

Following is the reply from MCYS:

Thank you for your suggestion dated 21 Oct titled 'Bring Your Child to Work
Day'. This excellent initiative is not foreign to Singapore. In fact,
many companies (such as Agilient Technologies, Microsoft, ABN Amro Bank,
Gleneagles Hospital, MINDEF, MTI, as well as Singapore Civil Defence Force)
had implemented Bring Your Child to Work Day before. Each organisation had
implemented this initiative in their own creative ways. Some for instance
have even offered art classes and magic shows for the children while their
parents are at work.

Instead of a top-down directive to designate a national 'Bring Your Child
to Work Day', we believe a more sustainable approach would be to continue
to encourage organisations to flexibly organise this initiative accordingly
to their schedule, at their own pace.

Thank you once again for your useful suggestion.
